9/2 Reh #9

Today we staged the first few scenes of Act 2. We found creative solutions for dealing with Ms. Debenham when she was shot, and I especially liked that I could secure my character an intimate spot in it since they’re secret lovers.

I found some great moments of play, such as when I was confronting Poirot and Marc asked me to “terrify him.” I also found new levels in my character’s feelings for Ms. Debenham since he’s immensely protective of her.

We are closely approaching when I’d like to integrate concepts from a book I read over the summer called The Actor and the Target by Declan Donnellan. We need to be off-book, in essence, as soon as possible. Once a book isn’t in my hands I can place my full attention on ‘the target’, and I could actually apply what I learned.

Tomorrow I want to keep daring. Earlier, I stated “I need to go all out. I have yet to make myself look like a fool, nor provoke my fellow actors by going all out. I need to stop anticipating… I want to give it all I’ve got.” I want to keep pushing in this direction.
